General Community Outreach

There are a lot of things we do that don’t make the headlines. We don’t talk about them a lot on the page, and we typically don’t fundraise specifically for them, but the list of services we provide go well beyond the big projects you see. Things like…

  • After-school care for single moms so they can keep working to be able to better provide for their kids.

  • Help with home repairs to create a healthy and safe living environment for families

  • Car repairs. Because those generally snowball into bigger problems if left unfixed including tickets, loss of income, and general safety issues.

  • Providing funds to cover student lunch accounts

  • Mental health support by covering the cost of counseling

  • Costs associated with equipment purchase or rental so kids can participate in extracurricular activities like sports, band, orchestra, etc.

  • Special requests from school staff to help underprivileged students with specific needs

  • Help with funeral costs so that they can focus on grieving, rather than how they’re going to pay for it

  • And so much more…

It’s the most random list of service we offer, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. No two family’s needs are the same, and the service we offer should reflect that. With all your generous donations that come into the general fund, we are able to walk alongside families, in whatever season of life they might find themselves in, and help them with specific needs that are unique and specific to their own family and situation.

Thank You Notes

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for the AC. It fits perfectly and cooled down the room quickly. Thank you so much for helping me and my mom.”

— From the HS son of one of the families

“Thank you for being kind to our family. We appreciate everything you did for us.”

— From the daughter of one of the families

”[inaudible sounds and lots of crying…]”

-From a VERY thankful mom

“On behalf of the City of Lakeway, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the work you all have done in the community. Your selflessness to help others in need, especially in a time of crisis, is heartwarming. We are blessed to have our neighbors’ helping neighbors AND our business owners stepping up again and again. Mike Dahlhauser, thank you for creating this site and facilitating the community work!”
